Project Titanium is IIT Bombay’s flagship initiative to foster faculty entrepreneurship by translating high-impact research into scalable, deep-tech ventures. Spearheaded by SINE and supported by distinguished IIT Bombay alumni Mr Rajesh Jain & Mr Ramesh Mangaleswaran along with Dr Ajay Sethi & Prof Anuradha Narasimhan, Titanium aims to bridge the gap between academic innovation and market deployment by providing structured support in team building, funding, mentoring, and commercialization.
Project Titanium is sector-agnostic but currently supports only IPs originating from IIT Bombay.
Enable faculty-led commercialization of IP and research.
Build strong startup teams with co-founders, mentors, and industry advisors.
Provide early-stage capital and strategic guidance.
Create a replicable model of academic entrepreneurship in India.
• Work with professors to identify IPs.
• Conduct TRL assessments and commercialization readiness scans.
• Match faculty innovators with vetted business co-founders through Titanium- led outreach.
• Support onboarding of mentors and subject matter experts.
• Incubation at SINE
• Disbursement of ₹50L in milestone-based tranches:
- Gate 1: Team formation
- Gate 2: Problem validation
- Gate 3: User discovery (50 interviews)
- Gate 4: First co-creator
- Gate 5: First deployment
